Good morning everyone! I'm back from my little break in posting! I got out of the Arizona heat for a short amount of time, and boy was it nice. Oh well, back to the oven now!
Today's post includes swatches of two beauties by Smitten Polish. They are both named after house words from Game of Thrones, a book series turned HBO series by George R. R. Martin. I've already seen the show and I just started reading the books, and I really love them both. I won't say anything else about it cause I don't want to spoil anything! On to the polish...
First we have Fire and Blood. It's a beautiful and rich red jelly with a few different glitters suspended in it. It's surprisingly opaque while still retaining it's jellylike nature -- I only needed 2 coats here for full opacity. I thought the formula was great, it applied beautifully, and the glitter behaved well. It really lights up in person as the glitters catch the light.
Winter is Coming is a semi-sheer white based polish with royal blue glitters. For this swatch I've used 3 coats. I love the look of this one. It's kind of like peppermint gum or something, though you shouldn't tell House Stark that I said so. The small blue flecks are interesting. They aren't regular micro glitter; rather, they look like little shavings or shards or something. Again, I had no problems with formula or with the glitter.
What do you guys think? I love these together as a pair because they are so different. I think they really accurately represent their namesakes, too.
Smitten Polish is available on Etsy. You can also find Smitten Polish on Facebook, and Noelie also has a blog where you can see more of her polish creations.
