To mimic the Warhol pieces, I depicted the exact same drips on every nail, only varying the color schemes.
On my thumb, I painted the four panels together like they would be in the actual art piece, using the same color schemes as I did on the rest of my nails. Probably should have used tape for this part buuuuut I was feeling impatient.
Here's the best shot I could get of all of the nails together. Photographing nail art on all five fingers is tricky!
Let's talk colors. There are a lot of them so I suppose I'll just go nail by nail.
- Pointer: Sally Hansen Twisted Pink, Zoya Robyn, Lime Crime Crema De Limon
- Middle: Essie Mojito Madness, Lime Crime Lavendairy, Lime Crime Peaches & Cream
- Ring: China Glaze Happy Go Lucky, OPI The Color of Minnie, Lime Crime Parfait Day
- Pinky: Zoya Arizona, Lime Crime Parfait Day, Zoya Robyn
When doing drips, I start by using a dotting tool to make the ends of the drip shapes. Basically you just want to place a dot wherever you want a drip to end. Then, I use my medium striper to do the rest of the drips, making each drip skinnier as it gets further away from its dot.
My favorite color combo out of these four is my middle finger. My ring finger looks kind of McDonald's-esque but I actually think it fits in really nicely with the other schemes.
This is definitely one of those manicures that I'm going to be bummed to take off tonight. It's so colorful and cheery and graphic!
Last year's inspired by artwork manicure was inspired by Pollock. You can also view upcoming challenge prompts here (we're almost done!).
